A Little Goes A Long Way

Almost everyone wants to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. Personally, I believe it is one of the reasons we were put on this glorious earth, to give back as much as possible. It’s definitely easier said than done for many, many people. Sometimes people feel that they are too busy, sometimes people just don’t have a passion for philanthropy, and a lot of times, people feel that they can not financially afford to help someone else. I understand those feelings. I really do.

Then there are the people who are willing and able to give back but don’t know how or where to start. My advice to those people is to not overthink it or get caught up on amounts. The key is to simply start. Think of how just twenty-five cents can help a child in need. Let’s do some simple math . . . if you put a jar in your kitchen and drop a mere quarter in it every day for an entire year, you will have $91.25 at the end of that year. Now, if a neighborhood of fifty-five rooftops mimics the same activity, over $5000 will be raised for a good cause. See, it really does add up after a while.

The truth of the matter is this, making a difference really is simple and it doesn’t take a lot of work or money. Just a little bit of each can go a long way. As human beings, we have the best intentions to do the right thing but our busy schedules, family bills, and saving for future emergencies can easily get in the way of our charitable giving. My personal goal for 2018 is to be more conscious about giving to charities and one charity I am extremely passionate about is Lumiere De Education Foundation. This charity currently provides 162 Haitian children with free education. Our foundation needs support from giving, charitable, and passionate people just like you.

Again, a little goes a long way. Your best intentions are there . . . simply start!
